...between 2 computers, if you do not host the network? I've easily set up file sharing between multiple computers before, however this is different.

I live on the bottom floor of a house, the landlord lives upstairs and hosts a wireless network that she offers her password for us to access the internet. We have 2 computers downstairs here, both connecting to the internet via her wireless network.
In saying this, I wish to transfer a few files (some larger than 3 gigs) from one computer to the other. I know this is easy to do if file sharing was enabled on her host computer, but is there any way to do this without involving my landlords computer?

You said you are connecting your 2 computers to the net using your lanlord connection. Meaning your computer is within the same network and if the computers are within the same network they can see each other. What you need to do is to share a folder and you can access it or you can transfer files...try to look for the IP of the computers that they are getting from your landlord's router and that is what you are going to use to access one computer from the other...Open dos commanp and type ipconfig for both computers and you will see the IP add...goodluck...jexter@eastern.com.ph

You can also use a cross-over UTP cable to connect both computers and share files.
You can buy this cable in most computer shops (it's very cheap). Connect both computers using the cable then setup IP address for both computers, after that you can share your files. Good luck!
