How is the Sites PR really important ??

I could never really understand.

If your site has great content but no backlinks then your PR isnt great..

You get a million hits but still your PR is only 2...

Can anyone explain how is site PR imp ?

Aah.. havent you heard of the Google PR thingy ??

Its some kind of ranking that google gives to sites .

0 is the worst and 10 the best PR.

Yep..

Google Page Ranking = Google PR .

Webmasters seem to be very happy if they get a high PR which is very rare.

Yeah i always wondered that too, who cares if you have a high or low page ranking. Because you dont exactly get money from it right? You just get advertisement...but i think not alot of people look at the PR.

No mate.. you are wrong... A LOT of people see the PR..

I mean A LOT ... I have seen people pay hundreds of USD just so that they get backlinks from a high pr site..

I think there should be a better alternative to it though.

Oh, but i still dont see what benefits from PR, its just advertisement for your site right?

Yep, for advertisment.. and there is some alogrithm which google follows.

Its like the more backlinks you have for similar topic and from better PR sites, the better your PR ranking in google and the better your place in search results

There are a lot of sites that allow you to check your google PR.

Check it out on http://pr.blogflux.com/

Google it if you are not satisfied, but all will give the same results.

In the Mozilla Firefox menu, you can also find the PR of your site and if it ranks high, then it has most green on it and you'll be happy :) if there's none, then it has a low rank.

Download Google Toolbar and you will find PR for every website that you open in web browser.

How to download the Google Toolbar for PageRank? I used to have this in my browser but for some reasons, just can't find it here now.:confused:
