Ulead Gif Animator.
Its really darn simple for making animations.
For high pixel graphics, photoshop works for me. But many say corel draw is better..
Never gave corel draw a try though

If I had to pick out of these two, I would pick Photoshop. I use Gimp myself.

Isnt Gimp way too complicated?
I do hear that the linux penguin was created using GIMP ;)
Hows gimp anyway ? Better than Photoshop / Corel ?

Gimp isn't that bad. It does have a slight learning curve. If you find Gimp hard to learn, there's a program called Pixa. It's easier than Gimp.

I've got PaintShop Pro, which has AnimationShop for making gifs, etc. I need to get PhotoShop, though. *sigh*

How good is Paintshop Pro? I was thinking about trying it.

I've always liked Paintshop Pro and Animation Shop. They're both fairly straightforward to use. I need to upgrade, though, since I've ugraded my computer since I bought them some years ago. I'm not sure if you can try them for free or not. I'll have to go looking and post the link, if someone doesn't beat me to it. :)

Who can afford Photoshop? ;-) :P
I usually use Photo Editor, myself. I tried downloading GIMP once...I thought my computer was going to launch itself across the room and start throttling me for even suggesting that it could handle such a large program.

I have used Photoshop and have learned to like it and I would want to know more about it. It is amazing to see your production afterwards. It makes you feel happy for your accomplishment. ;)
