...your Web hosting account? I want to purchase hosting to use for a wordpress blog and it gave me the option to choose SSL/Dedicated IP, do i have purchase that or i could just leave it out.

no u need not to purchase SSL/dedicated IP. u can use shared IP also

These are unnecessary for a blog. The only reason for a dedicated IP is if you are offering a hosted service by domain name (a fully-qualified URL or something like e-mail). An SSL certificate is useful if you want to assure visitors to your site that you are who you claim to be (important if you process confidential information or credit cards). If these don't apply, no need to pay extra for these services. A high-quality SSL certificate can cost as much as $1000 per year.
