Here's a site for beginners. I read the site and I like it. It teaches you the basic of javascript. http://www.javascriptmall.com/learn/contents.htm

I think that javascript is hard to learn for newbies in programming. Is that right, Nogard? Anyway, thanks for the link, I am sure it is useful and relevant. :)

How important is Javascript for someone who's just starting to become proficient at web design? I've heard that it's fairly low on the totem pole of important things to learn; is that true?

Yes and no. It all depends on what you want to do with your website. Some interactive buttons is javascript. You really don't have to learn it if you don't want to.

It's always good to tearn after you master HTML & CSS. Some people say you don't have to master HTML & CSS but I think it's always good to master it before you move on to something else.

Something about the JS/Wonka trojan has come up on another list I'm on, and the sites I've read about say that it hijacks Javascript and that part of the problem is that inexperienced people (like me) don't know how to keep their coding safe from intrusion. What's your take on this?

I can't tell you anything about it. I never heard of JS/Wanka. Is it a new trojan or does it go by any other names?

As far as I know, it's been JS/Wonka for at least a few years. I googled the name for information on it since it was coming up in discussion on another forum. That's how I found out what it tries to do (or some of it, anyway...it seems to be an entire family of trojans).
