In Photoshop how do i invert color by selecting a

specific portion of the image? like if i select a shape on a layer and would like to invert colors in that selected part only.....plz help

You can try extracting or using the lasso tool. I'm no expert, but that's what I generally use.

use any one of the selection tools to first select it. Then change the color

make a selection of the area you want to invert, then invert (image-->adjustment-->invert).

Note: always save a copy of your original file in case you need to go back.

select the portion of the image using the lasso tool - copy and paste it onto a new layer - u can do whatever after that. to invert go to image-adjust -invert..
