How do you add a link to a picture?

I have a banner of a story I'm writting, I want to make it so you can click the picture and go straight to the story. can you guys tell me how to do this? (I'm a little slow so simple answers please)

You will have to upload the picture to some website like http://www.geocities.com , then link the picture with a text or something ... if you need more help, you can IM me ..
