Will anybody here give other ways of advertising your websites aside from banners, links in forums ? How else can you advertise your site?

MAGAZINES, but the thing is its hard to find a magazine that'll advertise for you AND it'll be mad pricy.

Try MySpace or another page like my space. Use signatures in your email. I have trying to get people to my new blogs and I been using ever method I can for that. I put my webpage on the back burner for a few until I get my blogs going. I advertise my blogs everywhere. I use classified ads and everything for my blog. But when I was getting my web page going I joined all kinds of forums and also used Yahoo groups and Google groups and posted them there.

Did you have to pay for some of your advertising? Does the pay compensate the return?

I don't pay for none of my advertising. I advertise on forums, myspace, classified ads and through my email signature.

Do you mean to say that from these types of advertising, it can really generate the traffic that you need?
Also, maybe it is also because of the topic of your site, I have seen that Nogard has a work from home site and this type of sites naturally generate traffic.

I have a work from home blog also that gets booming with people. If you want to pay for advertising, that's up to you. I went the free route becuase it was there and cheap.

Well, as for cheap non-online ways, you can advertise your business at the local grocery store where they have bulletin boards. Or, you can try the local cafe/coffee house.

And if you autosurf, you can add your site to the surf rotation. :)

I don't even know what autosurf is. LOL... What is it?

Autosurfing is when you surf ad sites for return on buying your own ads. The best place to find out good and reliable information is http://www.thesafelist.org/members . The trick is use money you can afford to spend on the advertising and not count on anything back in. That having been said, I'm in profit from XLO (http://www.xlentopps.net/?ref=2026). I think I've spent $15 on ads and taken out about $25 in earnings and cash bonuses.

Yes, auto-surfing is great. I agree with QL, XLO is a good auto-surfing program and so is Trickledowncash. What's best is that the webmasters of these programs are constantly participating in thesafelist.org forums and so we are always updated as to the latest news and we also can air out our inquiries and questions. It doesn't cost much to try these sites, you only need $1 :) Get the interest of this $1 everytime you surf and at the same time, advertise your site, too :)

So far, I've put $25 into advertising at XLO and cashed out just over $30 into my egold account, thanks to the cash bonuses as well as the percentage earning on my money.

do you have to have a special program on your computer to do this, or just track it on your own.... and how honest are the sites? Do they pay on time and all that?

If you can get past the hideous turquoise-on-blue background (even I never designed a site that was this hard to read!!) there are some gems in the article. It's addressed to authors marketing ebooks, but much of what it has to say applies to anything you're trying to promote online. And the article is hilarious, as well.

I think the idea is intersting, but I'd be afraid of spyware sneaking onto my computer from surfing all those sites... and is it really making money depending on how much time you have to put in? (the surfing thing, I'm talking about!)

yes, they really are money making and they pay but you have to choose the tested auto surfing programs... so far, i recommend the following:

http://www.xlentopps.net/?ref=2430
Any other auto surfing programs, you'd like to recommend too, QL? :)

so.. for the newbies in here - what exactly do you do? what do you promote by buying your own ads and all that?
start from the beginning, please!

Ditto that! I'm still trying to figure out what, exactly, it is...

yep, I"m still wondering how much work is involved here... I mean, I've heard stories about clicking on emails and all that and losing money in the end.

Some sites are reputable and good and pay on time. I'm still with XLO (http://xlentopps.net/?ref=2026) and earning about $1.60 a day at this point, and have cashed out more than I've put in. Other sites have earned me a few dollars, and I've lost a few dollars when sites have gone under. It really pays to keep an eye on what's going on. I recommend the Safelist (http://www.thesafelist.org) for tracking the business and finding good sites.
You can put whatever site you want into the ad rotation, to drive up traffic to your site, and various sites have different rates. XLO's minimum is $5, which they match with a free $5 upgrade, so you earn 2% on $10 for 75 days. It's not a bad return, and I've been putting the earnings back in.

I have been gaining faster with XLO, too and I believe in the credibility of the owners of these surfing programs that QL and I are joining, XLO, TDC and I don't know if QL also joined Long4Gold? It is very effortless HYIP, no need to surf, just check your e-gold account and you'll earn every week.
