A "URL is a website name so an example would be if someone says to you whats is the URL of the website you just say

www.yahoo.com

URL is only the sites address you put into the address bar at the top ^

I think it is like a SSN for a picture or site or video on the web. If you have a URL you can transfer that info to another site. ei if you have the url to a youtube.com video, you can put it on you myspace or email.

A url is an address of a website or link. The address box at the top has a url in it of the website page.
