advantages of using centralized computer?

Computational power:
If you have a really seriously heavy-duty calculation, a central CPU can crunch through it much faster than a desktop or laptop can. This will become more important in the future, when quantum computing units come online. They will require big cryogenic cooling systems, but they will be able to do insanely complex programs basically instantaneously. So they won't be portable, but they would be perfect as a remote computational engine.

Centrality also helps system administrators keep the system running smoothly. This is less the case with *n*x-based systems, where administering 100 stations is about as time consuming as administering one.

1. easier to manage (such as a single database to maintain, overall hardware and software cost is low)
2. more security (as all you have to do is to provide logical and physical security to the centralized computer)
3. data correctness (as all data is stored at one place and there is no chance of data mismatch which would have occurred for decentralized computers)
