i would like to get the distressed look on graphic desgins using photoshop. It's the worn out look or scratched look.

I would use your brush palette

To do:
1) Click on paint brush icon on your toolbar
2) To make sure you can see your brushes, click on Windows >> Brushes (this is normally in the upper right corner of your screen)...click the brush tab
3) Select which brush you'd like to work with (if your default is on something that's not distressed enough, click the arrow that is to the left of brushes in the tab.) Go through your brushes and select one that you think would work well
4) Select a color you'd like to use for the brush - maybe, whites, yellows, grays, blacks, etc.
5) I would suggest creating a new layer (just in case you don't like how it turns out). Start placing the brush over your image - change colors if you want and even change the texture of the brush.

OR

1) Go to Filters >> Noise >> Dust & Scratches...work your way through the filters, test them out and you might find one that will do the job well for you.

Hope that helps!
