How to color parts of an Image with...

...Photoshop? I have a handsketched image, which I drew with a pencil, on graph paper, and I would like to color certain parts of it in, but I can't with "magic wand" and "fill", it colors large swaths of the image, can anyone give me detailed step by step instructions as to how to color it? Thanks.

Use the polygonal lasso tool to select the parts you want to color. You can also save selections under Select > Save selection to load it back in later if you want. Just be sure you save the file after you save a selection in case of a surge or something.
