...usage? It probably sounds like I'm an idiot but I'm not very technical when it comes to system stuff - but I need help on this. I have my scratch disk set on my main drive because I can't afford to get another drive. Is it safe to do this and what is the safest setting to use so that it won't mess up my computer?

I just did a bunch of work in Photoshop and now whenever I open it my CPU usage shoots up to 100% and stays there even after I close Photoshop - it only comes down if I restart. But if I open PS again (even after restarting), the same thing happens again.

I don't really understand all of this, but I know the thing with the memory isn't good. Do you have any suggestions on what I should do? Is there any way to "empty" Photoshop's caches or memory or whatever? I realize I sound like a dimwit, LOL.

Help would be much appreciated - ask me if you need any more details. Thanks in advance! And please give any instructions in English that I can understand ;D
Thanks Wolverine. I've since found out that it wasn't in fact PS that was messing with the CPU. It had to do with McAfee email scanning... I messed with the settings and it seems to be all right now. I just thought it had to be PS since that was all I'd been running on the PC for such a long amount of time. Thanks again though!
