What is a fair price for an average SEO campaign? Will

SEO vanish in the near future? I'm starting a little security company and I'd like to increase my google ranking so I'm considering hiring someone to conduct a SEO campaign. I don't have a lot extra cash, especially for marketing. A few questions:
1) What's the going rate for a fairly standard SEO campaign? I'm only seeking LA exposure
2) As more businesses use SEO, and the competition gets stiffer, will Google take away the organic section? How is SEO going to change in the future?

Hi Scott,

1) It depends on the scope of your campaign. Taking site submission as an example, submission to 100 directories may be $50, 500 sites, $100US, 1000 sites maybe around $500.

Site submission is only one aspect of SEO. SEO could also involve a website revamp, link-building, pay-per-click advertising, etc.

So to get an estimate, you would need a better understanding of what you want achieved.

2) Organic search results will never go away. If search engine removes the organic section, what remains is a simple paid directory where highest bidder gets top spots. It would barely qualify as a 'search engine' anymore. As web developers find more ways to rank high on search engines, SEO will rely more and more in relevant content and networking.

Good luck!
